Black Locust- Often found in old fields and woods, black locust trees provides homes and cover for many birds, including woodpeckers. This tall tree blooms in mid- to late springtime, bearing clusters of striking white flowers. Often seen along highways in rural areas.  A favorite nectar source for honeybees, and other pollinators. Black Locust is a honey chosen by many of our customers to sweeten coffee and tea. It has a pleasing spice tone; often described as a “sweet” honey. Delicious in recipes like banana, rye, or whole wheat bread. Try it in your baklava recipe. Add to your plain yogurt along with walnuts and cinnamon for a powerhouse breakfast!
